I sent a wire transfer to a respectable hotel in Italy over two weeks ago. They said they have not gotten the money yet. How long does it normally take? Thanks

  1. Cat says:

    It’s nearly immediate.

You weren’t using wire transfer to pay someone you don’t know, were you? It should only be used to send money to someone you know personally, as there’s no way to recover it later.

  2. Pinguino says:

A transfer between Italy and Germany once took ten days, (fourteen days is supposed to be the limit between EU banks); now also remember you should only count “working days” and in Italy in the past two weeks we had some holidays (April, 25 and May, 1) including a long weekend. So it’s really possible they haven’t gotten the money yet.
